Megan Wellinghoff, Executive Director – megansnip@gmail.com

Megan has worked with BSNP in various capacities ranging from volunteer to grant writer and board member over the past 5 years.  She is originally from Indiana, where she obtained a degree in Outdoor Resource Management from Indiana University.  It was this degree that led her and her husband to Bend 8 years ago.  Megan and her husband left Bend in Nov. 2011 to pursue life in the big city and moved to Austin, TX.  While in Austin, Megan had the opportunity to work for the very successful and large scale spay and neuter clinic, Emancipet.  Megan began her time at Emancipet as a Veterinary Technician on two mobile clinics as well as in their stationary clinic, where their team often safely performed 50-60 surgeries per day.  She then took the position of Executive Assistant to the CEO and had the opportunity to work side by side with directors of every department including Medical, Development, Financial and Education/Outreach.  Megan is confident that the experience and resources she gained at Emancipet will help her succeed in her new position at BSNP.  Megan and her husband returned to Bend in mid-July and she is thrilled to be back in Bend and in the position of Executive Director at BSNP; the cats, dogs and husband are mostly thrilled to be out of the heat!

Dr. Linx Alexanderson, DVM

Born and raised in Oregon, Linx received her Bachelor of Arts from Willamette University and then spent 2 years in Bend working as a Veterinary Assistant for her aunt, who is also a vet. She then moved back to the Valley to get her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Oregon State University. While in vet school she volunteered for the Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon and discovered a love for Trap-Neuter-Release. After graduating she worked primarily as an equine vet and then volunteered at BSNP and the Humane Society of Central Oregon for 6 months, finishing her Oregon Veterinary Internship before being hired as a Staff Veterinarian.  She is also a Shelter Veterinarian for HSCO and the Oregon Outback Humane Society. She lives in Sunriver with her Rottweiler Tank and her 4 cats Zane, The Dude, Mickey Malloy, and Zip Fizz.

Pat Hannen, Bookkeeper

Pat has worked as a volunteer at BSNP since almost the very beginning!  She has worked in pretty much every position here aside from actually performing surgeries!  Pat has lived in Alfalfa for more than 20 years and is an avid horsewoman. In fact, Pat was the President of the Central Oregon Barrel Racing Association for 10 years!  Pat and her husband Mike have two lovely daughters, Sarah and Jancie and they share their home with two Aussie mixes, Bull a very handsome fella, and Emma, a gorgeous girl who is deaf.  We finally convinced her to take home a kitty a few years ago, and Tutti (named for her AttiTUDE) has been running their house ever since!
