HOPE Food Bank

Beginning March 1st, all HOPE clients will need to bring proof of your government assistance to every food distribution.  As a reminder, your pets must be spayed or neutered to receive assistance from HOPE.

HOPE is an acronym for Help Our Pets Eat and is a Pet Food Bank for low income residents of Central Oregon.  HOPE is operated in conjunction with Bend Pet Express and is open for business on the first Saturday of each month.  Dog and Cat food is available for up to 3 pets in qualifying households.

In order to qualify, pet owners must:

  • Be on some form of government assistance (WIC, Food Stamps, Disability, SSI, etc.)
  • Be able to show proof of low income through tax return or pay stub
  • Be referred by another non-profit organization such as COVO or Meals on Wheels.

Food will be distributed on the first Saturday of each month at the Westside Bend Pet Express Location from 10am to 12pm.  Qualifying pet owners may receive food for 6 months before having to re-apply.  Pets which are not spayed or neutered must have an appointment within 60 days of receiving food from HOPE.  Vouchers are available for those who qualify.

HOPE relies on food donations from the community!  If you are able to donate, we accept any food, wet or dry, even if the bag has been opened.  Donation drop off locations include:

Monetary donations can be made by clicking the JustGive link on our home page, please note HOPE on your donation form.
